News Brief for al-Mousel Sector, Nainawa Province
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and may the peace and blessings of
Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions in entirety.
This is the news brief for the military operations carried out by the
Mujahideen of the Islamic State of Iraq (may Allah honor it) in some regions
of al-Mousel sector-Nainawa province, during 05/07/2008 to 02/08/2008. All
praise is due to Allah.
1. On 5/7/2008 : Eliminating an apostate police element in Dawret al-Mustashfa
region on the right side.
2. On 6/7/2008 : Damaging a Hummer vehicle for the Beshmarga and killing three
Beshmarga elements after detonating an IED at them in al-Sina'ah area on the
left side.
3. On 6/7/2008: Attacking a police checkpoint in Bab Sinjar region on the
right side , which resulted in the death of three elements.
4. On 7/7/2008: Damaging a Hummer vehicle for the Beshmarga after detonating
an IED at it in al-Meethaq quarter on the left sid.
5. On 9/7/2008: Damaging a Hummer vehicle for the Beshmarga and killing all
its passengers after detonating an IED at it in al-Intisar quarter on the left
side.
6. On 9/7/2008: Attacking a police checkpoint near the Fifth Bridge tunnel on
the right side, which resulted in the death of three elements.
7. On 9/7/2008: Eliminating an apostate police element in Farooq street on the
right side.
8. On 12/7/2008: Destroying a Hummer for the Beshmarga and killing three
elements- one of them was an officer- after detonating an IED at them in al-Haso
region in al-Meethaq quarter.
9. On 14/7/2008: Detonating a booby-trapped car against a police checkpoint,
under the Fifth Bridge tunnel, which resulted in the destruction of a vehicle,
killing of seven policemen and leaving a number of them wounded . An IED was
detonated at the supporting troops, who were coming to help, in al-Sa'ah
region to kill four elements and destroy their vehicle.
10. On 14/7/2008: Damaging a Hummer vehicle for the Beshmarga and killing its
passengers after detonating an IED at it in al-Haso Warramil region in al-Meethaq
quarter.
11. On 15/7/2008: A courageous hero of the Martyrdom Battalion ( may Allah
glorify it) rushed to attack with his booby-trapped car a building –that had
been taken by force- for the Beshmarga in al-Iqtisadieen street-17 Tamooz
quarter. He could destroy a Hummer vehicle, kill five elements and leave
others injured.
12. On 15/7/2008: Damaging a US armoured vehicle after detonating an IED at it
in al-Karamah quarter on the left side.
13. On 15/7/2008: Detonating an IED at a joint patrol for the police and
National Guard at al-Ma'ared crossroads on the left side to result in the
injury of a policeman and three National Guard elements.
14. On 15/7/2008 : Shelling with five 60mm mortars the Nainawa Governorate
building to kill three apostates and injure another one of the governor's
bodyguards.
15. On 15/7/2008: Shelling with four 60mm mortars one of the Zionist Beshmarga
barracks in Souq al-Ma'ash on the right side. The hit was precise and on
target.
16. On 15/7/2008: Shelling with three 60mm mortars the apostate police
department on the right side.
17. On 15/7/2008: Attacking with light and medium weapons al-Boursa bank-which
is used as a headquarters for the apostates- on the right side , which
resulted in the destruction of a watchtower and killing of the snipers inside.
Then, a courageous soldier of the Martyrdom Battalion parked a booby-trapped
car close to the headquarters and withdrew safely. He detonated the car
against the headquarters to leave it partly ruined and kill some apostates.
18. On 15/7/2008: Detonating a booby-trapped car against a police patrol in
Karage Baghdad region to destroy a vehicle and kill four of its passengers.
19. On 15/7/2008: Attacking , from different sides, with light and medium
weapons the National Guard headquarters in al-Mousel al-Jadeeda region on the
right side. A number of the National Guard elements were killed and injured.
20. On 15/7/2008: Detonating an IED at a US patrol in al-Yarmouk region while
trying to support the apostates in al-Mousel al-Jadeedah region. That resulted
in the total destruction of a US tank and left its passengers killed and
wounded.
21. On 15/7/2008: Attacking a police headquarters in Baghdad Street to destroy
the checkpoint at the main gate and kill three elements.
22. On 15/7/2008: Attacking with light and medium weapons the Beshmarga
supporting troops in al-Matahin quarter, which resulted in the destruction of
a Hummer vehicle and the death of five of its passengers.
23. On 15/7/2008: Damaging a Hummer vehicle for the Beshmarga by detonating an
IED at it at al-Wihda crossroads on the left side.
24. On 16/7/2008: Shelling with a homemade rocket al-Mousel Airport , which is
used as a headquarters for the crusaders. The hit was precise and columns of
smoke were seen rising from the area.
25. On 16/7/2008: Detonating an IED at a US patrol in al-Nour quarter on the
left side.
26. On 16/7/2008: Attacking with light and medium weapons a police patrol in
Bab Jadeed region on the right side. Many police elements were killed or
injured.
27. On 16/7/2008: Attacking a police checkpoint in Ras al-Jadah region on the
right side. That resulted in the killing of three policemen and taking their
light and medium weapons as booty.
28. On 16/7/2008: Detonating an IED at a vehicle for the Beshmarga and killing
its passengers in Kokgelee region on the left side.
29. On 16/7/2008: Detonating an IED at a foot patrol for the Beshmarga in al-Intisar
region on the left side.
30. On 17/7/2006: Attacking with light and medium weapons a joint patrol for
the crusaders and apostate Beshmarga in "17 Tamooz" quarter to kill and injure
a number of them.
31. On 17/7/2008: Attacking with light and medium weapons the National Guard
troops in al-Shifa'a quarter to leave a number of them killed and wounded.
32. On 17/7/2008: Attacking a checkpoint for the National Guard in al-Sheikh
Fathee street to kill and injure four elements of them.
33. On 18/7/2008: Setting up a perfect ambush for the Beshmarga elements on
al-Mousel-Dahook road in Talkeef region; the soldiers of the Islamic State
detonated an IED at a convoy of "Zeal" troop carriers for the Beshmarga
passing on the road to destroy one of them and kill four apostates. After
coming back to al-Mousel, these troops were attacked
again by a booby-trapped car, and that resulted in the destruction of a troop
carrier, which was loaded with soldiers, and killing of fifteen apostates.
34. On 19/7/2008: Attacking a checkpoint for the National Guard at al-Najafi
street crossroads on the right side to leave three apostates killed.
35. On 19/7/2008: Eliminating four police elements on the right side; the
first one was killed in al-Sa'ah region, the second in al-Sirgkhana region,
and the other two elements in al-Zangeele.
36. On 20/7/2008: Booby-trapped car detonated at a supply convey, guarded by a
Kurdish security company, for the crusaders. The convoy included the logistic
officer who worked as a coordinator between the Americans and Beshmarga .The
attack resulted in the destruction of two pick-up vehicles and the killing of
its passengers-including the above-mentioned officer-.
37. On 20/7/2008: Attacking ,with light weapons and hand grenades, a gathering
for the crusaders in al-Borsah region on the right side. That attack resulted
in the death and injury of a number of them.
38. On 20/7/2008: Damaging a Hummer vehicle for the National Guard in al-Meethaq
quarter to kill and injure its passengers.
39. On 20/7/2008: Damaging a pick-up vehicle for the police by detonating an
IED at it in al-Ba'ath quarter on the left side.
40. On 20/7/2008: Damaging a pick-up vehicle for the police by detonating an
IED at it in al-Wahdah quarter on the left side.
41. On 20/7/2008: Burning two winshops after being warned three times in "Al-Majmooaáh
Al-Thaqafiyya" region on the left side .
42. On 21/7/2008: Destroying a Beshmarga's Hummer and killing all its
passengers after detonating an IED at it in "Arbeel" street on the left side.
43. On 21/7/2008: Damaging a Beshmarga's Hummer after detonating an IED at it
in "At-Tahreer" district on the left side .
44. On 21/7/2008: Destroying a National Guard's vehicle and killing all its
passengers after detonating an IED at it in "Al-Methaq" district .
45. On 21/7/2008: Eliminating two officials of "al-Mousel Governorate" in "Al-Wehdah"
district on the left side .
46. On 22/7/2008: The complete destruction of a National Guard's Hummer
vehicle after detonating an IED at it in "Al- Wehdah" district .
47.On 22/7/2008: Damaging a police's pick-up car and killing all its
passengers after detonating an IED at it in "Al- Wehdah" district .
48. On 22/7/2008: The destruction of a National Guard's Hummer vehicle after
detonating an IED at it in "Al- Entisar" district on the left side .
49. On 22/7/2008: Attacking a Police's checkpoint in "Al-Borsa" region ,
resulted in the death of three of their elements .
50. On 22/7/2008: Eliminating an element of the National Gaurd in "Az-Zanjily"
region on the right side .
51. On 24/7/2008: Detonating an IED at a US minesweeper in "Al- Wehdah"
district on the left side .
52. On 24/7/2008: The destruction of a Beshmarga's car and killing all its
passengers ( three Officers) after detonating an IED at it in "Al- Hudbaa"
district on the left side .
53. On 24/7/2008: Damaging a Police's vehicle and killing or injuring all its
passengers after detonating an IED at it in "Al- Masaref" district on the left
side .
54. On 24/7/2008: Attacking a National Gaurd's checkpoint in "Al- Shefaá"
district on the right side . Losses were unknown .
55.On 24/7/2008: Eliminating a Lieutenant officer in "Adan" district on the
left side.
56. On 26/7/2008: Attacking a gathering of the Crusaders and police in "Bab-Singar"
region on the right side , resulted in the death or injury of many of them .
57. On 26/7/2008: Attacking a National Gaurd's patrol in "Al-Eslaah Az-Zerai"
district , resulted in the injury of many of them .
58. On 26/7/2008: Attacking with mortars a Police's checkpoint under "Al-Jeser
Al-Khames" tunnel on the right side , resulted in the death of many apostates
.
59. On 27/7/2008: Eliminating a Beshmarga officer in "Al-Maáred" region
on the left side .
60.On 28/7/2008: Detonating an IED at a Beshmarga's foot patrol at "Takleef"
crossroads , resulted in the death of five of them .
61. On 28/7/2008: The destruction of a "Vectra" car carrying a Beshmarga
officer after detonating an IED at it in "Al-Hadba" district .
62.On 28/7/2008: Damaging a Police's pick-up car after detonating an IED at it
in "Al-Majmooah Al-Thaqafiyya" region on the left side .
63. On 28/7/2008: Detonating an IED at a Beshmarga's foot patrol in "Suddat
ah-Rashidiyya" region , resulted in the death or injury of ten of them .
64. On 29/7/2008: Attacking a National Guard's checkpoint in "Al-Shifaa"
district on the left side , resulted in the death of two of them .
65. On 29/7/2008: Attacking a Police's checkpoint in "Al-Shifaa" district on
the left side , resulted in the death of one of them .
66. On 30/7/2008: Damaging two Beshmarga's Hummer after detonating two IEDs at
them in "Arbeel" street on the left side .
67. On 30/7/2008: Eliminating an element of the National Guard in "Al-Boorsa"
region on the right side .
68. On 31/7/2008: Detonating two booby-trapped cars, almost simultaneously ,at
the Beshmarga in "Kokgili" region on the left side . The first car was
detonated at a Beshmarga's convoy , resulting in the incineration of a pick-up
car and the death of all its passengers ( three officers ) and when the
supporting troops arrived there the second car was detonated to destroy a
Hummer vehicle and kill five soldiers .
69. On 31/7/2008: Attacking with an RPG missile a National Guard's checkpoint
in "Bab-Singar" region on the right side , resulted in the destruction of a
Hummer vehicle and the death of all its passengers .
70. On 31/7/2008: Detonating an IED at a National Guard's foot patrol in "Al-
Wehdah" district , resulted in the death of three of them .
71. On 31/7/2008: Attacking a Police's checkpoint in "Al-Shifaa" district ,
resulted in the death of one of them and the injury of two others .
72. On 1/8/2008: Attacking with a hand grenade a US patrol in "Bab-Singar"
region , resulted in the death or injury of many of them .
73. On 1/8/2008: Damaging a Police's pick-up car and killing or injuring all
its passengers after detonating an IED at it in "Shiqaq Al-Karama" region on
the left side .
74. On 1/8/2008: Eliminating a spy working for the Crusaders in "Al-Jazaer"
district on the left side .
75. On 2/8/2008: The destruction of a Beshmarga's vehicle and the death of all
its passengers after detonating an IED at it in "As-Sdeeq" district on the
left side .
76. On 2/8/2008: Shelling with mortars a National Guard's headquarters in "Al-Karama"
district on the left side , resulted in the death of four National Guard
elements and the injury of many others .
77. On 2/8/2008: Attacking a National Guard's checkpoint in "Al-Shifaa"
district on the right side . Losses were unknown .
78. On 2/8/2008: Attacking a Police's checkpoint in "Az-Zanjily" region ,
resulted in the death of one element and the injury of two others .
79. On 2/8/2008: Eliminating two elements of the police in "As-Sinaeiyya"
region on the left side .
80. On 2/8/2008: Eliminating an element of the National Guard in "Al-Mashahida"
region on the right side.
These operations were part of al-Birr (piety) incursion declared by the
Minister of War Sheikh Abu Hamza al-Mouhajer (may Allah grant him victory),
included in al-Karama (The Dignity) Plan, which was declared by Ameer Al-Mu'meneen
Sheikh Abu Omar al-Baghdadi (may Allah protect him), leader of the Islamic
State of Iraq.
